Main duties of the job
The Registered Nurse Associate Will Be Required To Promote And Support The Mission And Vision Of The Practice And Contribute To The Effective Operation Of The Nursing Function On a Day-to-day Basis. They Will:
Ensure strict confidentiality when seeing, treating and liaising with patients.
Adopt, implement and support any changes that are introduced to improve the service.
At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner.
Demonstrate their competence by the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with health and safety policy and statutory regulations.
Adhere to equal opportunities policy throughout the course of their employment.
Effectively manage own time, workload and resources.
Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance team performance.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Provide wound care and dressing changes.
Conduct health screenings including smears, and assist in chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
Perform phlebotomy and collect other specimens for testing.
Health Education and Promotion
Educate patients on managing their health conditions and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Provide advice on disease prevention and health maintenance.
Support patients in managing their medication and treatment plans.
To safely undertake the following procedures to meet the patients nursing needs to include; undertaking routine procedures including venepuncture, ECG recording, measuring and interpreting blood glucose levels, recording and interpreting vital signs, continence assessment, pressure area, wound care, nutritional assessments.
Foot care, skin integrity, mood identification (as outlined in the NMC Nursing Associate Skills Annex).
Identify and report changes in a patients condition to a registered nurse or other professional.
Prioritise and manage own workload, recognising where elements of care can safely be delegated to other colleagues, carers and family members.
Provide and receive sensitive information concerning a patients medical condition.
Work with registered nurses and other professionals and engage with other agencies and community teams to ensure a safe, individualised approach to the admission and discharge of patients.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NMC code.
Assist in the coordination of patient referrals and follow-up appointments.
Participate in practice meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with practice policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and other practice staff.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
Provide support and guidance to healthcare assistants and other junior staff.
Personal/Professional development
Engage in continuous professional development and keep up to date with current nursing practice.
