Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Night Nurse to join a purpose-built nursing home in the Sunderland area, providing high-quality nursing and dementia care to older adults during night shifts.

You will hold RGN or RMN registration, be NMC-registered with a valid PIN, and bring post-registration experience. You will work with the care team to assess needs, administer medications, and maintain comprehensive records while upholding safeguarding and CQC standards.

Qualifications

• RGN or RMN with post-registration nursing experience.
• Valid NMC registration and PIN.
• Experience working in a nursing home.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and care planning skills.
• Ability to administer medication safely and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to older adults throughout the night
• Assess residents' clinical needs and develop, implement and review individual care plans
• Administer medication safely and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Provide compassionate nursing support for residents living with dementia
• Monitor residents' health and respond promptly to changes in their condition
• Carry out clinical procedures and nursing interventions within your competence
• Support and guide Healthcare Assistants to maintain high standards of care
• Promote residents' dignity, comfort, independence and wellbeing
• Maintain clear communication and provide effective handovers to the day team
• Ensure NMC standards, safeguarding procedures and CQC requirements are consistently followed

Your Role as a Night Nurse

What We're Looking For

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – essential
• Valid NMC registration and PIN – essential
• Previous post-registration nursing experience – essential
• Experience working within a nursing home – essential
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and care planning skills
• Experience supporting older adults with nursing and dementia care needs
• Confidence making clinical decisions and responding to changes in residents' conditions
• Good understanding of safeguarding, CQC standards and clinical best practice
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills
• A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach
