Job summary

Abbey Healthcare in Romford is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to cover day shifts in a Purpose-built Nursing Home. The role includes full training with paid breaks, uniform provision, and 5.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays.

You will contribute to the home's philosophy of care and encourage resident involvement in their care. The ideal candidate is an RN with experience in elderly care, has English proficiency, and holds UK work authorisation with NMC registration.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: HOME MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS

RN with experience in caring for the Service User group

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the efficient running of the home during the time he/she is the Senior on duty. Contribute to maintaining an environment that is reflective of the Homes philosophy of care and one that encourages resident involvement in their care

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To ensure the assessment of service users care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care are undertaken and documented fully.
2. As required take charge of the Home in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility.
3. As required undertake on call duties.
4. Ensure an appropriate exchange of information between all grades of staff which promotes continuity of service user care.
5. Maintain full and complete nursing records.
6. To ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with the N.M.C. and Homes policy. Reporting to the Senior Nurse as necessary.
7. To monitor the use of all resources to promote effective and efficient use appropriate to the needs of the service users.
8. Liaise with relevant parties in order to facilitate service user care and well being.
9. Report any shortfalls in the provision of service user care to person in charge/management.
10. To ensure care practices are reflective of the requirements of the NMC and that such practices are reviewed and developed.
11. Maintaining personal contact with clients, through one to one contact and group activities.
12. Ensure all visiting professionals is recorded
13. Attend mandatory training and in house training as required
14. To abide and understand all Abbey Healthcare policies and procedures
15. Help to ensure the home is compliant with Care Standards - Scotland and CQC Engalnd
16. Help promote and market the home

EDUCATION

1. To assist with the orientation, induction and on-going training of staff.
2. Contribute to the continuing development of the home through professional self-development and the promotion of evidence based practice.

COMMUNICATION

1. Attend meetings and ensure that information is passed on to all the staff.
2. Help maintain good communications with all professionals and others involved with client care and the management of the Home.
3. Ensure professional support to all grades of staff in the Home.

NIGHT DUTY

THIS IS A WAKEFUL DUTY UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTIFIED
