Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Darwin Court Care Home, Lichfield, is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Registered Nurse to act as person in charge in the manager's absence and oversee high standards of resident care. You will perform nursing tasks including medication administration, supervise the care team, and communicate changes to families and GPs, ensuring care planning is applied.

Applicants must hold a First Level qualification and current NMC registration, with at least two years' experience; DBS check

Qualifications

• Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ care experience and up-to-date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
• Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition and keeping them informed.
• Supervision of staff within the care team to ensure tasks are completed and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as aRegistered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.
