West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical & Paediatrics team in a full-time, fixed-term role commencing as soon as possible until January 2026. You’ll deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care across surgical and paediatric cases, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care. Clinical competence, accountability, and sound decision-making are essential, particularly when responding to changing patient needs.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are key, as is the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple demands, and maintain confidentiality and documentation standards. A flexible, proactive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork and quality care are critical in this fast-paced setting.
We’re looking for someone with a mature work ethic, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, nights and weekends. You’ll be expected to contribute to mentoring, quality improvement, and uphold high standards of clinical governance and professional conduct.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Experience in a Surgical or Paediatric Nursing environment.
A demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP).
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
An ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment.
IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required prior to commencement.
