Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for a Mental Health Nurse to join the Unscheduled Care Assessment Team (UCAT) based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and respond to unscheduled mental health presentations, delivering compassionate care in a busy 24/7 service.

Applicants must be an experienced Staff Nurse with NMC registration, demonstrate excellent communication, time management and teamwork, and be committed to PVG screening.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Staff Nurse in mental health.
• Must hold NMC registration and be eligible to work in the UK.
• Able to work in a fast-paced unscheduled care environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Mental Health Nurse to

join the Unscheduled Care Assessment Team (UCAT) based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. We are looking for nurses who possess excellent team working skills, use initiative, have excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication and time management skills. Also, a requirement is to have a valid NMC registration. There is a wide range of ongoing training opportunities within NHS Fife to develop your skills and range of clinical supervisors within the mental health service.

UCAT provide, in collaboration with medical staff colleagues, a response to all

episodes of unscheduled mental health care in Fife. This is a 24 hour, 7 days

a week service. Candidates are required to have considerable experience as a Staff Nurse in an appropriate mental health setting.
