Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking bank staff to work as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing ongoing assessments, care planning, treatment and support for people with serious mental health problems and in crisis.

The post holder will ensure access to and availability of mental health nursing skills to users of mental health services and families, across multiple sites in Surrey and North East Hampshire. Interview date 24 November 2026.

Responsibilities

• To provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to a defined group of service users, ensuring care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in line with individual needs.
• To take a lead role in the clinical management and coordination of care for allocated service users on a shift-by-shift basis.
• To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and partner agencies to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
• To supervise, support, mentor and teach junior staff, unqualified staff and students, ensuring safe practice and professional development.
• To monitor, assess and respond appropriately to changes in service users' physical health, mental health and behaviour.
• To administer prescribed medication safely and in accordance with Trust policies and professional guidelines.
• To promote recovery, independence, equality and diversity, ensuring care is delivered in a respectful and inclusive manner.
• To ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards, including consent and capacity frameworks.
