We are excited to offer an exceptional secondment opportunity for an experienced Band Staff Nurse position on Maple Ward.

Maple Ward is dedicated to the care of older adults, providing treatment for individuals aged 65 and above who require admission. The Ward is divided into two specialised units:

• Maple : An 8-bed unit specifically for the assessment and treatment of patients who live with the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
• Maple : A 10-bed unit for patients with functional mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorder, depression, and more.

Additionally, we actively encourage and support staff in accessing further training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and career progression.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, ensuring that issues of equality, diversity, and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation. They will ensure effective communication pathways exist and act within their sphere of responsibility, managing the shift in the absence of the Ward Manager or designated deputy.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for identified service users, acting as a nurse for individuals with complex and challenging needs.

As a key member of the team, you will deliver high-quality, individualised, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process. You will also play a vital role as a link between patients, carers, relatives, and therapists, ensuring a consistent focus on positive patient outcomes.
