Job summary

Cygnet at Oaklands, Hexham, is seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RNLD/RGN) to join a specialist learning disability service. This permanent role offers a 42-hour week with day and night shifts, within a supportive MDT to deliver person-centred care.

You will manage nursing assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and contribute to service improvement. A current NMC pin and commitment to recovery are essential.

Qualifications

• Current NMC pin number is required.
• Active nursing registration with the NMC.
• Experience in mental health or learning disability settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate nursing assessments and observations in reports.
• Work with management to audit and improve quality of care.
• Attend training and CPD to enhance knowledge and practice.
• Ensure care plans are complete and coordinated with patients and families.
• Safely administer medications following local and national guidelines.
• Provide supervision and guidance to junior team members.

About the Role

Permanent contract
42 hours per week (working shifts 7:45am - 8:00pm & 7:45pm - 8:00am)

Your day-to-day…

• Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments & observations
• Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, & improve quality
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
• Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with patients, relatives & other healthcare professionals
• Safe administration of medication as per local and national guidelines
• Provide effective direction and support to junior members of the team

An experienced RMN/RNLD/RGN with a current Pin Number, youll have
