Job summary

Universal Care Group is developing a six-site Supported Accommodation Service for young people. You will lead all homes, with Deputy Managers overseeing three homes each, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strategic and operational leadership, safeguarding, pathway planning, and continuous quality improvement to secure positive outcomes for looked-after children and care leavers.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working with looked-after children, care leavers, or vulnerable young people.
• Previous management experience within Supported Accommodation, Residential Childcare, Semi-Independent Living, or a similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, risk management, and supporting young people with complex needs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple services and staff teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Supported Accommodation Service across six homes.
• Oversee the registration process and ensure ongoing compliance with the Supported Accommodation Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review support plans, risk assessments, pathway plans, and placement plans.
• Ensure high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and life skills.
• Supervise, develop Deputy Managers and staff through supervisions, appraisals, training and performance management.
• Lead recruitment, induction, and retention strategies to maintain a stable workforce.
• Prepare for inspections, audits, and monitoring visits.
