We achieve this by proactively developing the skills and experience of our staff through regular supervision, ongoing support, training and a competency-based appraisal process.
What will your role look like?
- Managing all aspects of running the Home, accommodating medium to long term planned placements and ensuring young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living
- Maintaining high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable accommodation and the activities of keyworkers are planned, provided for and applied in accordance with the Home’s procedures and strategies
- Promoting team development and effective teamwork
- Maximising the effectiveness of staff through motivation, development and mentoring
- Leading by example in setting high standards and evaluating outcomes
- Taking a proactive role in driving improvements in the quality of services provided
- Overseeing the operational management of the staff team and deploying appropriate resources to fulfil key responsibilities
- To ensure that sufficient backup resources are available in emergency/out of hours situations, including participation in an out of hours ‘On-Call’ Rota
- To ensure compliance with all regulations and standards applicable to the management of Children’s Residential Settings in Wales
- Building and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with clients and partner agencies
- Managing financial budgets, control systems, and administrative records in line with organisational procedures and expectations
- You will be registered with Social Care Wales as a Manager of Children’s Residential Homes and have gained a minimum of two years’ experience managing a Children’s Residential Setting
