Job summary

Salutem Care & Education is seeking a Registered Manager to lead an 18-bed care service in South Shields, overseeing delivery of person-centred services, budgets, and staffing. You will supervise Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and Senior Support Workers to ensure high-quality operational performance.

The role requires a QCF Level 5 Adult Management Diploma or equivalent and experience with the CQC framework and health and social care regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care management and a strong understanding of Health & Social Services regulations.
• Proven ability to motivate and lead a staff team to deliver good outcomes in partnership with the people we support.
• Knowledge of the CQC framework and applicable legislation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support the delivery of person-centred services within your defined area.
• Ensure effective financial administration through staff deployment and budgeting.
• Oversee the overall operation of the service and management of staff.
• Regularly supervise Team Leaders andSenior Support Workers to maintain service quality.
• Demonstrate excellent administrative skills and manage workload efficiently.
• Drive continuous service improvement and regulatory readiness across inspections.

Wallace Mews and Wallace Lodge make up an 18-bed care service in South Shields, we support adults with physical and learning disabilities to live the life they love! The Mews supports 15 individuals and the Lodge is for three individuals.

The individuals we support at Wallace Mews love getting stuck in a baking/cooking up a real storm! We've all been known to make our very own McDonalds, packing included! We've taken part in chocolate workshops and have baked many a cookie for children in need! We love celebrating each other's birthday and always make time for cake! We often take part in arts and craft's sessions and have so much fun doing so. We love trips out and you can almost guarantee to find us at a carnival or festival of some kind.

About The Role

Job scope:

The role of the Registered Manager has the overall operational responsibility of the service or services ensuring the smooth running and the allocation and management of staff. You will be responsible for the delivery of excellent operational services within your area, regularly supervising Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and/or Senior Support Workers.

You will be responsible for:

• To monitor and support the delivery of person centred services to all people using our service within your defined area.
• To ensure effective financial administration of the services delivered, through the effective deployment of staff and budgets
• The overall operation of the services ensuring the smooth running and the allocation and management of staff
• The delivery of excellent operational services, regularly supervising the Team Leaders
• Ensuring the effective and efficient provision of support to the people using the services
• You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent administrative skills and be able to organise and priorities your workload whilst being financially astute
• You will need to be experienced in social care management and CQC Framework and will possess excellent knowledge of Health & Social Services and applicable regulations/legislation.
• You will have experience of motivating and enabling a staff team to achieve good outcomes in partnership with the people we support, and with an emphasis on role modelling best practice in a care environment
• You will have a proven track record of improving and developing services for people with disabilities.
• Above all, you should be as approachable, as reliable and as dedicated as we are, and you'll be poised to hit the ground 'sprinting'

Professional Qualifications:

You will join us with a QCF Level 5 Adult Management Diploma, or equivalent qualification, or be eligible to complete the Level 5 Diploma

Registration Process

• Week 1 in role - DBS must be applied for
• Week 2 in role - until the DBS check is back and verified as per process - registration application to be drafted in the background with support from our Quality team
• Within 2 weeks of the DBS returned and verified - Registration application to be submitted to the regulator.

Once the registration is completed and in place £5000 will be added to your annual salary and backdated to the probation pass date.
