Job summary

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a bank registered general nurse to assess patients, monitor vital signs and administer medications across hospital and community settings on the Isle of Wight. Responsibilities include wound care, post-surgical recovery support, health education for patients and families, and working within multidisciplinary teams to update care plans.

NMC registration and at least six months NHS experience required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in adult nursing is required.
• NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse or Adult Nurse.
• At least 6 months experience in NHS within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs and track recovery progress.
• Administer medications, give injections and assist in minor procedures.
• Manage wound care and post-surgical recovery.
• Support patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma or hypertension.
• Provide guidance on immunisations, smoking cessation, weight management and preventative screening.
• Provide health education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Work with doctors, therapists and multidisciplinary teams to update care plans.
• Keep accurate, confidential clinical records.
