Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a permanent Registered Nurse for the Acute Assessment Unit. The role focuses on assessing patients, planning and delivering care without direct supervision, and evaluating outcomes while supervising healthcare support workers and student nurses.

The post requires a live NMC PIN and evidence of post-basic study, with a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment and flexible working arrangements discussed.

Qualifications

• Evidence of relevant post-basic study
• Live NMC PIN as a registered nurse
• Ability to apply evidence-based ward care

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate care programmes without direct supervision.
• Deliver care in line with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records.
• Identify and elevate concerns where care quality or safety may be compromised.
• Support and supervise healthcare support workers and student nurses.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
