Job summary

Skycare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time role in the UK. The post requires prior UK RN experience and an active NMC pin, with the ability to deliver high standards of care in a 60-bed facility.

You will work 44 hours per week on long 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm) in a Portsmouth/Portsmouth-area home, with excellent training and career progression opportunities. Competitive hourly pay is offered, along with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, complete health care records and reports.

• Prescribe assistive medical devices and related treatments as applicable.
• Supervise, develop and teach other care team members.
• Monitor standards of care delivered to residents and ensure policy adherence.
• Ensure shift handovers are clear and concise.

• Long shifts,12-hour shifts, 8am-8pm
• Pay rate between £21-£21.10 per hour

About the home:

A modern, purpose-built facility, this Care Centre is a three-storey building with a passenger lift for the easy mobility for residents. Featuring 60 beds – all with an en suite – and an easily accessible urban garden with fountain and pathways, the centre is designed to give residents comfort in their everyday life.

The nursing home provides a variety of care types, including end of life care, respite care, nursing care and 24/7 residential care, as well as catering for those with dementia and challenging behaviour.

Nurse Job Role

To be responsible for the assessment of the care needs of patients and the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans under the direction of the Head Nurse, thereby ensuring that a high standard of care is delivered.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for candidates who will be able to ensure that nursing care is delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures.You'll report directly to the Registered Care Manager and your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
• Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects/ reactions
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
• To be able to supervise, develop and teach other care team members
• Monitoring standards of care delivered to our residents
• Ensuring all Day staff on your shift contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home
• Ensuring resident needs are being met by interacting with them, resolving any problems where appropriate
• Reporting any ill-health amongst residents and making requests for GP/Professional visits when neededPreparing, updating and evaluating Resident Care Plans
• General Nursing work and personal care as appropriate
• Attend relevant staff meetings
• Advising the Registered Care Manager of any incidents/accidents
• Ensuring there is a clear and concise handover at every shift

Essential Criteria

• Previous working experience within a similar position
