Job summary

Skycare in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a modern 60-bed care centre dedicated to compassionate resident care.

This full-time role offers 44 hours per week across 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm) with pay between £21 and £21.10 per hour, plus benefits.

You will assess care needs, develop and evaluate care plans under the Head Nurse and contribute to a high standard of clinical care for residents.

Qualifications

• Hold an NMC PIN and be eligible to work in the UK.
• Experience in a similar nursing role is preferred.
• Commitment to high standards of care and patient well-being.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate health records and reports.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Supervise, develop and teach other care team members.
• Ensure standards of care align with policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and ensure effective handovers.

About the home:

A modern, purpose-built facility, this Care Centre is a three-storey building with a passenger lift for the easy mobility for residents. Featuring 60 beds – all with an en suite – and an easily accessible urban garden with fountain and pathways, the centre is designed to give residents comfort in their everyday life.

The nursing home provides a variety of care types, including end of life care, respite care, nursing care and 24/7 residential care, as well as catering for those with dementia and challenging behaviour.

Nurse Job Role

To be responsible for the assessment of the care needs of patients and the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans under the direction of the Head Nurse, thereby ensuring that a high standard of care is delivered.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for candidates who will be able to ensure that nursing care is delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures.You'll report directly to the Registered Care Manager and your key responsibilities will include:

• o Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
• o Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects/ reactions
• o Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
• o To be able to supervise, develop and teach other care team members
• o Monitoring standards of care delivered to our residents
• o Ensuring all Day staff on your shift contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home
• o Ensuring resident needs are being met by interacting with them, resolving any problems where appropriate
• o Reporting any ill-health amongst residents and making requests for GP/Professional visits when needed
• o Preparing, updating and evaluating Resident Care Plans
• o General Nursing work and personal care as appropriate
• o Attend relevant staff meetings
• o Advising the Registered Care Manager of any incidents/accidents
• o Ensuring there is a clear and concise handover at every shift

Essential Criteria
