The Prosthodontic department at Newcastle Dental Hospital delivers a varied range of routine and specialist dental treatments to a wide range of patients.
Although our main focus is delivering prosthetic appliances such as dentures, crowns, and bridges, we also provide other conservation treatments under the restorative umbrella. We treat and review patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer, patients meeting NHS criteria for implants, and those with moderate to advanced periodontal disease with our staff hygienists. Surgical procedures for Endodontics are also carried out.
The Prosthodontic clinic's dental nursing team works alongside staff of varying experience levels, including undergraduate students.
You may be required to work in other dental departments within the Dental Hospital to cover absences.

The Registered Dental Nurse provides high standards of clinical care and support to postgraduate and undergraduate clinicians, as well as staff grades, under the management of the Senior Dental Nurse.
The role includes preparing and maintaining clinical areas, managing stocks of materials and equipment, and inputting data into the patient administration system.
Based on Level 5 of the Dental Hospital within the Prosthodontic Clinic, you will work on various treatment and new patient consultation clinics, covering absences across student treatments, junior staff, specialist clinics such as Oncology Support, and more.
While based in a specific department, the post holder may be required to work across any area of the Dental Hospital and other dental units within the trust.
