We are looking for a passionate and child-focused Registered Manager to lead the opening of our inviting three/four-bedded home in the NG8 area of Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in recruiting your own team and shaping the home’s environment to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive space for the children in your care.

The Registered Manager will oversee the efficient and effective operation of the home, providing strong leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and prioritizing the safety and well-being of the children and young people in care.

Application Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a residential childcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and regulations governing children's homes.

Experience:

  • Residential childcare: Minimum of 2 years (required).

License/Certification:

  • Valid Driving Licence (required).
Responsibilities of a Children's Care Home Manager:
  1. Leadership and Management

    • Provide strong and effective leadership to the staff team, promoting a positive and nurturing environment for children and young people.
    • Manage and support staff, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance appraisals.
    • Ensure staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  2. Operational Oversight

    • Oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring it runs efficiently and meets the needs of the children.
    • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.
    • Maintain appropriate staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
  3. Compliance and Safeguarding

    • Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and relevant childcare legislation.
    • Promote and uphold safeguarding practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people in the home.
    • Monitor and review policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  4. Child-Centred Care

    • Foster a nurturing environment that supports the emotional, physical, and educational development of children and young people.
    • Ensure children and young people are actively involved in decisions affecting their lives.
    • Promote positive relationships with families, carers, and external agencies.
  5. Budget and Resources

    • Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
    • Maintain the property to a high standard, ensuring it provides a safe and welcoming environment.
  6. Reporting and Communication

    • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Ofsted and local authorities.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, children, families, and external professionals.
    • Participate in regular inspections and audits to demonstrate the home’s adherence to high standards.
  7. Crisis Management

    • Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff in managing challenging behaviours or complex situations.
