Job summary

Search Consultancy Ltd is supporting an established specialist provider in appointing a Registered Children's Manager for a 3-bed EBD home in LE67. The role demands strong leadership, safeguarding expertise and a track record in residential childcare to uphold high-quality, individualized care.

The successful candidate will lead the staff team, ensure regulatory compliance, develop staff, and work with external agencies to secure positive outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Registered Manager in children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Experience leading a residential childcare team.
• Good safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead from the front and support your team.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and operation of the home.
• Ensure Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements are met.
• Lead, motivate and develop the staff team.
• Provide strong leadership and maintain a positive culture within the home.
• Ensure children and young people receive high-quality, individualised care.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and records.
• Monitor children’s progress and outcomes.
• Work with social workers, education professionals, families and external agencies.
• Manage staff performance, supervision, development and training.
• Maintain compliance and quality assurance processes.
• Prepare for and support Ofsted inspections.
• Monitor home performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels and resources.
• Ensure the home remains a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment.
