Job description

Registered Children's Home Manager

Ofsted Rated: "Outstanding"

Location: Leicester (LE5)

Salary: Up to £55,000 per year

We're looking for a Registered Manager for a settled, solo children's home in Leicester rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The current manager has stepped up internally, so this is a rare chance to walk into a well-run, fully staffed home with strong foundations already in place.

It's a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager or a confident Deputy who's ready for the step up to take on a home that doesn't need fixing, just steady, thoughtful leadership to keep standards high.

What makes this one stand out?

  • Outstanding-rated home
  • Fully staffed
  • No firefighting
  • Supportive leadership
  • Genuine progression

The role

You'll be responsible for running the home day-to-day, supporting a young person with complex EBD needs. You'll guide the team, keep the culture strong, and make sure the care provided remains child-centred, consistent, and safe.

What you'll be doing:

  • Keeping the home compliant with Ofsted regs and Quality Standards
  • Making sure the young person gets consistent, therapeutic, individualised support
  • Leading and developing your team with supervision, morale, and training
  • Taking the lead on safeguarding and always putting the young person's safety first
  • Liaising with families, social workers, and external professionals
  • Managing the budget and keeping the home running smoothly

What we're looking for:

  • Someone who's either already a Registered Manager or a strong Deputy with solid experience in residential childcare
  • A Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
  • A good understanding of Ofsted regulations and how to deliver it in practice
  • A calm, confident leader who can support staff, deal with challenges, and keep standards high
  • Someone who genuinely believes in creating a stable, supportive environment for young people to heal and grow

Why this role?

There aren't many chances to step into a home like this, well-run, high-performing, and with a team that's already doing great work. It's the kind of role where you can really focus on the young person and the team, without constantly needing to put out fires.
