About the Role

We are seeking Registered Building Inspectors to play a vital role within our high-performing Planning & Building Standards service. You will contribute to delivering a modern, responsive, and customer-focused building control service, helping to ensure that development across the area is safe, compliant, and of high quality.

In this role, you will support the continued improvement of the built environment for residents and businesses while playing a key part in implementing the national building safety regime. Building on our progress in this area, you will help embed best practice, drive innovation, and uphold a positive, collaborative culture.

You Will Demonstrate
  • Registration as a Building Inspector (Class 2 minimum)
  • Sound knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and associated legislation.
  • Experience working within building control or a similar regulatory environment.
  • The ability to interpret plans and specifications and apply regulations effectively, exercising sound professional judgement appropriate to your level.
  • Experience managing a caseload of building control applications.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements with practical, solution-led outcomes.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing positively to team performance and service delivery.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.
