Regional Training Lead - Transport

Location: Essex

Salary: £33,000 - £41,000 + London Weighting + Company Car

Region: Essex & London

Do you have experience delivering training to professional drivers in high-risk logistic environments? Are you proactive in safety, compliance, and driver performance? Our client seeks a Regional Training Lead to uphold best practices and driver compliance across Essex and London operations.

This role is suited for a skilled training professional experienced with qualified HGV drivers. You will oversee their ongoing professional development, working closely with operational teams to deliver classroom, practical, and on-the-road training, shaping driver performance from onboarding throughout their career. You will play a key role in maintaining safety and operational standards within the fleet.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver practical and classroom-based transport training, including standards, compliance, safety, customer service, and hazardous goods handling.
  2. Design and adapt training materials to reflect local risks and operational changes.
  3. Support and assess new starters, agency drivers, apprentices, and seasonal drivers.
  4. Deliver tailored modules such as CPC driver training, ADR awareness, manual handling, WTD, load security, etc.
  5. Monitor training impact via safety audits, KPIs, data, and feedback.
  6. Collaborate with local teams to reinforce driver accountability and safety practices.
  7. Address audit outcomes and incident trends with targeted training.
Candidate Profile
  1. Proven experience in training delivery in classroom and practical settings.
  2. Skilled in creating effective, measurable training materials.
  3. Experience with driver and compliance training (Logistics UK, RoSPA, SAFED, CPC).
  4. Familiarity with high-risk operations; ADR certification is advantageous.
  5. HGV Category C+E license holder.
  6. CPC qualified, with strong knowledge of driver compliance and safety practices.
  7. Engaging facilitator with excellent communication skills.
  8. Self-motivated, able to manage regional schedule.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office and LMS tools like Workday.
