Overview

Due to the Testing Development Programme (TDP) there is a requirement for an additional Regional Testing Manager within Testing Manchester. This role will support one of the two workstreams within the TDP as well as share the BAU work for the day to day running of the department. It is an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of the new Testing contracts.

Joining us in this vital role, you will manage the cost-effective and efficient delivery of a high-quality Testing Service. Ensuring the best use of all physical laboratory resources, you will see to it that financial targets are being met and that the team are consistently complying with the expected regulatory systems and processes. Where standards have slipped, you will determine what caused the failure and put corrective action in place.

Main duties
  • Co-ordinating and delivering an efficient, cost effective, high throughput Testing Service, serving a range of stakeholders over a wide geographical area.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance by monitoring all associated systems and processes ensuring that any failures are analysed and corrective action is initiated and validated in a timely fashion.
  • Providing leadership, developing and managing a multi-skilled, diverse and flexible workforce, of appropriate skill mix, capable of meeting the challenges of a dynamic testing environment.
  • Managing the budget and physical assets of the laboratory ensuring optimal utilisation of all resources and meeting financial targets.
  • You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
  • You will also be required to participate on the on the Critical Incident Manager rota which will include an on-call out of hours rota which may include evening, weekend or public holiday working to cover for On Call.
