Job summary

Dains IT is seeking a Regional Support Engineer for the Midlands to lead IT support across our offices. You will manage networks, servers, and cloud services, delivering timely technical support both onsite and remotely.

The role requires 3–5 years in IT support or infrastructure management, with strong Cisco Meraki and Windows/Azure expertise. A collaborative, proactive mindset and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years IT Support, infrastructure management, or similar role.
• Proven experience managing regional or multi-site IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Be the main IT contact for Midlands offices.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network systems, servers, and storage.
• Ensure availability and reliability of IT services including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls and cloud-based systems.
• Provide technical support to employees within the region, onsite and remotely.
• Coordinate hardware/software procurement, maintenance and upgrades.
• Collaborate with national IT team to deploy new technologies and standards.
• Ensure regional compliance with IT policies, procedures and security protocols.
• Track and manage IT assets and lifecycle management.
• Provide regular reports on regional IT performance and incidents to senior management.

Comprising skilled professionals across various domains, including systems administration, application development, cybersecurity, and data management, the team is dedicated to delivering seamless IT solutions that empower business operations.

As our Regional Support Engineer, you’ll be the primary IT support for our Midlands based operations. You’ll have the exciting challenge of managing and optimising the IT function across our offices, ensuring seamless connectivity and tech support for our teams.

As Regional Support Engineer you will report into the Helpdesk Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be the main point of contact for any IT related queries in any of our Midlands offices
• Maintain and troubleshoot network systems, servers, and storage solutions
• Ensure the availability and reliability of IT services, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud-based systems.
• Provide technical support to employees within the region, both onsite and remotely
• Respond to and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner
• Implement and support IT projects, such as system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
• Collaborate with national IT team to deploy new technologies and standards
• Ensure regional compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.
• Track and manage IT assets, ensuring optimal utilization and lifecycle management.
• Provide regular reports on regional IT performance, incidents, and projects to senior management.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement, maintenance, and upgrades.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or
• equivalent experience).

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in IT Support, infrastructure management, or a similar role
• Proven experience managing regional or multi-site IT operations

Technical Skills:

• Solid understanding of Office 365 and Windows operating systems, as well as cloud
• platforms (e.g., Azure).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki and networking technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP,
• VLANs).

Communication Skills:

• Your exceptional presentation and communication skills enable you to convey complex
• information clearly and engagingly across all levels of the organisation.

Adaptability and Innovative Thinking:

• You can adapt to changing business needs and have a flair for thinking creatively to solve
