Basic Scope and primary objectives
• Successfully sell THE’s site-wide subscription and partnership services to universities globally
• Drive new business for our branding and hiring solutions revenue streams
• Plan and implement sales strategies for key markets
• Build strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure that they are fully utilising their subscription amongst their staff and students which will in turn support future renewal conversations
• Plan and run content lead panel discussions at key in-person and online events
• To generate new business leads through market research and personal knowledge
• Working with our events team to sell exhibition and content partnership opportunities
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced sales manager to further develop our content solutions business.
The successful candidate will need:
• To support on an agreed number of sales meetings with new and existing clients across agreed territories.
• Implement new sales strategies in key markets using local knowledge and research
• To attend industry and company events to help drive sales opportunities.
• To accurately record information/sales/upgrades within Salesforce (and other relevant systems), the company requires for market awareness and revenue or statistical analysis
• Creative mindset – thinking of new and innovative ways to drive sales and engagement for our content solutions
• To fully understand and be able to communicate to our customers the THE’s solutions packages and pricing structures.
• To maintain an extremely high level of customer care at all times.
• Work collaboratively with regional heads to help maximise revenue opportunities
• To focus on achieving group or individual targets as set out by THE.
Person Specification Essential Skills/Qualifications
• Highly driven/ self-motivated with a passion to learn and develop within the role
• New business development/ sales experience
• Strong networking skills
• Evidence of commercial acumen
• Able to demonstrate a creative and original talent
• Comfortable and confident in delivering presentations to clients Desirable Skills/Qualifications
• International sales experience
• Degree level qualification or equivalent
• Events experience • Subscription sales experience
• Presenting and leading panel sessions at events
• Experience working within a content-lead media/ news business
• Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred; fluency in English is required
• Language skills in an additional Asian language is desirable
