Job summary

SUEZ is recruiting a site operative in Barnstaple to advise and assist the public on how to use the site and maximise recovery of materials. You will maintain records, provide excellent customer service and coordinate container exchanges to keep the site organised.

As part of the team you will respect health and safety duties, comply with permits and policies, and be prepared to cover holidays and sick leave. Travel to Ilfracombe, Bideford and South Molton may be required, with fuel reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Providing excellent levels of customer service.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, ensuring space to segregate and store material.
• Maintain a tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
• Ensure SUEZ complies with health, safety and welfare duties for employees and others affected by your actions.
• Co-operate with SUEZ and other employees to comply with the site permit, applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

Job description

What will I be doing?

You will advise and assist the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials deposited in the sites.

This will involve:

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Providing excellent levels of customer service
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintain a tidy site withinyour areas of responsibility.
• You will ensure that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected byyour actions or omissions.
• You will co-operate with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

The role requires:

• A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
• A person extremely conscious of health and safety with the desire to develop and embrace change, whilst driven towards continuous improvement.
• Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage but not a necessity
• You will require your own means of transport and appropriate insurance to Cover the following areas: Ilfracombe, Bideford, South Molton. Fuel is reimbursed.
