Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead safety policy across civil engineering and construction activities in the UK and Europe. The role includes developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety standards on groundworks, concrete works, and data centre projects.

You will conduct risk assessments, deliver safety training, investigate incidents, and drive a strong safety culture among project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in civil engineering or construction environments.
• Knowledge of groundworks, concrete works, or data centres.
• Strong understanding of UK and EU health and safety legislation, risk management, and incident investigation.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.

We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic civil engineering company delivering groundworks, concrete, and RC frame projects across the UK and Europe. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies across civil engineering and construction activities. The key responsibilities include:

• Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and monitoring compliance with legislation
• Delivering safety inductions, training sessions, and promoting best safety practices
• Investigating incidents and near misses, preparing reports and corrective action plans
• Collaborating with project teams, site supervisors, and clients to foster a strong safety cultureThe successful candidate will have:
