Our client, a well-established, worldwide company, specialising in industrial cleaning products, currently has the need for a Regional Service Technician to join their team. This role is field based covering London/Greater London to include HP, WD and associated postcodes and may include some time in central London. The successful candidate will benefit from a dedicated fully accredited internal training scheme.

Main Tasks of the Role:

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on products whilst maintaining company and industry standards within the agreed time restraints
  • Use a diagnostic system to ensure diagnostic testing and repairs are thorough and to the highest quality
  • Replace parts and components and keeps detailed, organised records of repairs to each machine – in accordance with customer purchase order system/warranty guidelines
  • Regular communication with Team Leader and Schedulers to ensure efficiencies and KPI’s are achieved
  • Communicate and actively listen to Customers and Schedulers to ensure positive working relationships are developed and maintained
  • Complete documentation of work orders to ensure accurate records and orders are created
  • Responsible for the control of van stocks in accordance with customer base – ensuring 5% difference adhered to during all stock takes
  • Responsible for ensuring relevance of individual van stock items and liaising with Team Leader where necessary
  • Identify and communicate sales leads relevant to Business Development Manager and Key Account Manager
  • Maintain tools and equipment to a satisfactory and safe condition
  • Actively participate in ‘on the job’ coaching and regular performance reviews with Team Leader
  • Accountable for self-development – attendance of accreditation training courses essential

The Successful Candidate:

  • Must have an understanding of municpal vehicles, mechanical, hydraulics or auto electrics
  • Ideally educated to an NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering, however, this can be substituted with hands-on experience
  • Previous product knowledge and experience within the cleaning industry/material handling are desirable
  • Proven field service experience from a maintenance/technical background
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be self-motivated and flexible, as well as highly organised
  • Have a high level of diagnostic skills
  • Ideally have experience within electric and electronics, batteries, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and engines
  • Must hold a Full UK Driving licence and be able to commit to National travel and overnight stays
