Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to service Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands. The role focuses on planned maintenance and reactive repairs across a major supermarket estate, with CO2 pack systems and a defined patch.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and contribute to ensuring safe, efficient refrigeration operations across multiple sites. The package includes a £50,784 base salary, £2,535 standby, £2,000 joining bonus, and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• F-Gas Category 1 qualification, C&G 2079-1 or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across supermarket sites.
• Service and maintain commercial refrigeration systems, including CO2 pack systems.
• Diagnose refrigeration, electrical and control faults.
• Attend breakdowns and complete repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Identify defective components and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Complete minor installations, alterations and remedial works within your competence.
• Carry out inspections and ensure refrigeration systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
