Job summary

OutsideClinic a leading UK provider of optical care at home, invites an Optometrist to join a flexible field-based role across South Wales. The position offers travel across Wales with 2–3 weeks local and 1–2 weeks away, with accommodation and meal allowances provided during away weeks.

You will conduct extended home visits (about 1 hour) to deliver high-quality patient care, using advanced mobile equipment, and receive CPD support from the company.

Responsibilities

• Help around 6-7 patients every day, visiting them in their own homes; appointments are 1 hour to form better relationships and provide gold-standard care.
• Make autonomous decisions with support available from senior optometrist team at head office.
• Use the latest equipment including a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer and digital records system (no paperwork).
• CPD support with time allocated to complete exams if required.

A role that lets you explore Wales

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Optometrist who enjoys variety and travelling to different locations. You’ll typically spend 2–3 weeks each month working locally, covering patients within around a 50-mile radius of your home in South Wales, with the remaining 1–2 weeks spent travelling to other areas of Wales. When you’re working away from home, we’ll take care of your accommodation, all business travel expenses and meal allowances.

You will:

• Help around 6-7 patients every day, visiting them in their own homes. Our appointments are longer than you’d get on the high street (1 hr), allowing you time to form better relationships with your patients and deliver gold-standard customer care.
• Be trusted to make autonomous decisions and valued for your expertise. Although you'll never be on your own as you can get support or a second opinion in minutes from our senior optometrist team at head office.
• Use the very latest equipment, including a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer and our industry-leading digital records system, which means no paperwork.
• Be supported with your CPD. We'll invest in you and give you the time to complete exams if required.
