Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company, is seeking a Regional Operations Manager based in Reading, with travel to Kidlington. You will lead multiple TM depots, manage depot managers and large teams, and drive profitable delivery across a fast-moving, reactive and planned traffic management environment.

You will work with regional and national clients, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met while upholding the company values and a right-first-time culture.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Experience leading and supervising a team – operational managerial experience.
  • NRSWA accreditation.
  • LANTRA 12ABCD qualification.
  • Knowledge of permit schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of budget for the South depots for a high volume 24/7 reactive and planned traffic management service across a multi-sector client base.
  • Ensure smooth, effective, proactive delivery across the depot network, maintaining consistency and quality in all service streams.
  • Lead by example and instill the core values of the business.
  • Ensure that customer needs are at the heart of all depot and team decisions.
  • Manage cost-effective delivery of service while maintaining high quality for clients.
  • Ensure client SLAs and KPIs are exceeded.
  • Be the go-to person on operational issues regionally and mentor peers.
  • Motivate and develop each team to deliver a right-first-time, exceptional customer service.

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.
Sapphire Traffic Management Solutions have depots across the UK. Our fleet cover high and low speed solutions supported by the in house CAD, Planning and Streetworks Team to ensure compliance and accuracy.
The Team utilise the latest technology to minimise disruption to allow works to be undertaken safely while keeping the road network moving.

Purpose of the role

Based in Reading, the Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for multiple TM Depots locations, each with a depot manager, and a large workforce.

This dynamic operational management role comes with a significant amount of responsibility. Heading up delivery across a multi-depot network, you will be expected to ensure profitable delivery of sales lines across a fast-moving reactive and planned environment.

You will be working with regional and national clients across all commercial and industrial sectors and delivering service that meets a variety of SLAs and KPIs.

You will ensure the consistency and quality of delivery that maintains the company's reputation.

Location

Reading and Kidlington (travel between the two sites)

Hours

50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the cost-effective delivery of service while achieving the high quality of service Lanes customers have come to expect.
  • Ensuring that client SLAs and KPIs aligned with their company philosophies are exceeded.
  • Be a ‘go to’ person on a day-to-day basis about all operational issues in your region and a role model for peers both inside and outside Lanes.
  • Motivate and develop each team to be accountable for a right first-time approach and to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Requirements
Skill and Experience
  • You must have a full UK driving licence
  • Confident in systems and functions
  • Experience of leading and supervising a team - Operational Managerial experience required
  • To hold NRSWA accreditation
  • LANTRA 12ABCD
  • Knowledge of permit schemes
  • You will be an enthusiastic and committed individual with an ability to self-manage.
  • You will be able to quickly integrate yourself, and work to a very high standard, within an established team. Your exceptional operational and commercial skills will be key to your success in this role.
  • You will have worked in a reactive service industry and will have traffic management experience. You will also have excellent leadership, coaching and motivational skills to inspire individuals and teams to deliver a profitable outturn.
