Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead Digital Services across a portfolio based in Leeds. You will oversee BMS service delivery, manage engineers and subcontractors, and drive continuous improvement to meet SLAs and KPIs.

Key responsibilities include P&L ownership (£1m–£3m), site visits, and driving growth opportunities while ensuring exceptional customer service. A degree or electrotechnical trade is required, with SC/CTC clearance being a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree level education or equivalent electrotechnical trade qualification.
• Experience managing BMS services at scale.
• Ability to obtain and retain SC/CTC clearance.
• Experience managing self-delivered and subcontracted services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee digital service provision across all sites in the portfolio.
• Direct day-to-day management of 15–20 service engineers and partners.
• Manage specialist subcontractors and ensure contract KPIs are met.
• Regularly review contracts with customers and upsell services where possible.
• Maintain strong commercial acumen and KPI understanding to deliver contracts within SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and contract standards and manage budgets.

Equans is looking for a Regional Operations Manager to join our Digital business, based from our office in Leeds with the objective to support sites across the North East.

Role overview

This Regional Contracts Manager role sits within Digital Services (Digital & Energy) and is responsible for all elements of BMS and digital service within their portfolio. This role is there to ensure our teams are managed efficiently to provide an effective and high-quality technical service to customers and Equans colleagues. Our Managers continually review team performance, contracts, growth opportunities & innovation while ensuring customer satisfaction in line with SLAs. Contracts in each portfolio include:

• Hospitals
• Schools
• Government Buildings
• Office and Retail Spaces

Key activities

• Responsibility for digital service provision across all sites in their portfolio
• Day to Day Management of BMS Service Engineers and Service Partners (approx. 15-20 persons)
• Managing specialist subcontractors
• Regular contract reviews with customers and senior clients, upselling services where possible
• Excellent commercial acumen, understanding of KPIs & strong history of successfully delivery contracts
• Technical, Finance, Commercial understanding and awareness
• Operational delivery of contract KPI’s – meeting SLAs
• Management of statutory, legal, safety and contract compliance standards
• Stakeholder engagement and liaising with PMO
• P&L responsibility between £1m - £3m
• Travelling to all sites in the portfolio to undertake service reviews, safety visits and meet teams
• Ensuring engineers work efficiently, that tasks are planned efficiently to balance all work types while meeting SLAs for attendance
• Ensuring our teams meet the required training and operational quality standards
• Compliance with financial processes and meeting budget targets
• Setting and reviewing team objectives to ensure teams are aligned to company strategic goals
• Actively participates in securing new growth opportunities and secures new contracts in line with targets
• Degree level education, or, Qualified and experienced trade (electrotechnical)
• Relevant, evidencable work experience to a similar level
• Must be able to obtain and retain SC/CTC clearance
• Experience of managing self-delivered and subcontracted BMS services on a large scale
• Thorough working knowledge of the BMS industry and systems our teams may encounter (ie, Trend, Tridium, Siemens etc)
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC plant and other M&E systems
• Experience within a variety of contract environments
• P&L Responsibility with a track record of success
• Strong client focus and clear, concise communicationskills
• Excellent commercial acumen, understanding of KPIs & strong history of successfully delivery contracts in financial terms
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with the team, clients, support functions and other departments to optimise service levels
• Working knowledge of CAFM/Other Systems
