Job summary

Jayplas seeks an Operations Director to lead eight sites across the UK, based near Loughborough with travel. The role focuses on safety, output, yield and cost control, driving Lean/Six Sigma improvements and ensuring food-contact compliance.

You will manage site managers, set objectives, and partner with the Commercial Director to meet customer specifications and volumes. You will lead from the shop floor, build strong processes, and fix issues quickly while developing people and systems for

Qualifications

• Senior operations leadership experience in plastics recycling or related continuous process industries.
• Proven track record turning around underperforming plants and delivering measurable gains.
• Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own safety, output, yield, uptime, quality and cost across all sites.
• Establish KPIs and drive daily/weekly performance reviews.
• Lead turnaround of underperforming plants and drive process improvements.
• Develop and implement SOPs, root-cause analysis and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Lead, develop and hold accountable site managers and teams.
• Ensure compliance with food-contact regulations and certifications.
