Job summary

BASC is seeking a Regional Officer to deliver shooting and conservation activities in the North region. The role centres on membership engagement, recruitment and regional events, with travel across the North and to shoots, clubs and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will manage projects, coordinate volunteers and promote BASC’s conservation objectives while working with the regional director and external partners.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full driving licence.
• Must hold firearms certificate and shotgun certificate.
• DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Support membership recruitment and retention across the region.
• Build and maintain relationships with affiliated clubs, syndicates, trade members, shoots and gamekeepers.
• Organise and deliver a programme of membership events.
• Support BASC attendance at clay shoots, country shows, trade events and regional activities.
• Manage and develop a network of volunteers for events and activities.
• Support practical conservation projects and promote conservation activities.
• Work with BASC training and education team to support delivery of training courses and outreach.
• Develop relationships with external stakeholders including police licensing and rural crime teams, Natural England, the Environment Agency and other regional organisations.
• Respond to enquiries and direct members and the public to appropriate BASC contacts.
• Promote sustainable shooting and game as healthy food through regional activities.
