Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking a Museum Development Advisor hosted by Manchester Museum to support regional museums across the North of England. You will provide advisory services, broker relationships, and help connect museums with opportunities.

We value diverse experiences and require travel as part of the role. You will work with colleagues to deliver projects, training, and grant schemes while representing the Museum Development North network.

Qualifications

• Experience in a museum/gallery setting at senior level.
• Knowledge of national and regional museum issues.
• Ability to meet travel requirements in North of England and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver objectives against a large Arts Council England grant.
• Advise up to 100 museums with online and in-person support.
• Co-lead area-wide projects with budgets around £5,000 per project/year.
• Contribute to Museum Development England network activity.
