An established industry player is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their Engineering Maintenance team. Have you completed a mechanical or dual-skilled apprenticeship, or do you hold a formal mechanical-based qualification? Do you enjoy a practical, hands-on role that involves maintaining equipment, identifying root causes of failures, and providing engineering solutions for timely and cost-effective repairs across the Wessex Water Region? Would you like to undertake full and part refurbishment of complex mechanical equipment, utilizing your skills to re-engineer where possible? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our workshop as a Mechanical Technician.
Joining our friendly and supportive Engineering Maintenance team, you will help repair and refurbish equipment from our water treatment works to uphold the highest standards for our customers.
This hands-on role involves refurbishment and repair work in our asset servicing workshop, including diagnosing faults and repairing critical assets. You will also contribute to local decision-making and suggest improvements for underperforming plant.
You will take full ownership of jobs from start to finish, ensuring successful resolution and completion.

This is a mobile role requiring travel across the Region as needed to cover shortfalls and holidays. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with overtime available and a 24/7 on-call rota after training.

Previous experience in the water industry in an EM&I role or workshop repairs is desirable but not essential.
