Regional Logistics Leader — Operations & Performance

Job summary

Algeco UK is seeking a Head of Logistics Operations North/South to coordinate and drive performance across regional fleets, 3PLs and the full service from loading to delivery. You will lead and coach a team, set clear expectations and champion continuous improvement.

The role requires close collaboration with the National Logistics Team, Regional and Service Centre operations, Supply Chain and Planning, and commercial teams to provide a seamless, safe and efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage H&S/Compliance across area with audits and compliance checks
• Liaise with Logistics Managers and Fleet Manager to ensure timely resolution of defect reports and maintenance scheduling
• Lead health & safety initiatives and roll out improvement plans
• Maintain oversight of fleet and subcontractor performance; escalate non-compliance
• Manage team performance via structured 1:1 reviews, training and development plans
• Develop and oversee resource plans, attendance and performance to ensure compliance and positive environment
• Maintain stakeholder communication and escalation management
• Lead Day to Day logistics execution across regional distribution flows; manage disruptions
• Ensure delivery performance meets service levels (OTIF)
• Track and report logistics KPI’s; identify and implement improvement plans
• 3PL management against KPI’s and SLA’s
• Ensure data system compliance (Insphire)
• Lead abort and escalation handling; communicate with internal teams and customers
• Lead team meetings/calls to review performance and planning
• Develop weekly engagement structures with other departments to align targets
• Monitor logistics cost drivers and support cost reduction initiatives
