Job description

HGV Class 1 Driver
We are looking for a Regional Class 1 HGV Driver based from any of our Scotland depots, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh & Dundee, but providing cover for all the depots and drivers across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK market leader in powered access. With this role you will be required to travel and cover the depots where needed across the region. Travel and accommodation arrangements will be paid for by the company when this is required.

As an HGV class 1 driver, we are looking for people that have the correct licences, hold a CPC card, enjoy dealing with people on a daily basis, have excellent customer service skills and understand the importance of health and safety within an organisation.

In return you'll receive full training, a competitive salary of £32,500 plus a regional allowance of £4,000, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, Westfield Health Insurance, auto enrolment pension and access to retail discounts.

Responsibilities include:

1. Load and unload machines in accordance with the Company code of practice and use appropriate equipment.
2. Maintaining security of load when loading, transporting and delivering machines.
3. Handover machines to customers and familiarise customers with machine operation.
4. Carry out daily checks on vehicle and ancillary equipment.
5. Comply with legislation regarding vehicle safety, tachographs operation and working time.
6. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required.
7. Act as an ambassador for the company, providing high standard of customer care and being polite at all times.
8. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork.

About you:

1. You must hold an HGV class 1 licence & a full CPC card.
2. Flexible with staying away from home on average three nights per week (accommodation provided).
3. Experience of driving a low loader vehicle delivering plant or recovering vehicles is preferred, though full training can be provided.
4. An understanding of the importance of customer service is essential as you will be responsible for demonstrating our equipment to customers.
5. A demonstrable understanding of HGV vehicle safety and upkeep.
