Job summary

United Utilities is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to manage a remote team across a large geographic area. You will oversee daily delivery of planned and reactive grounds maintenance, manage schedules, costs, and contractors, and ensure high safety standards.

The role requires a qualification in grounds maintenance, a full UK driving licence, and strong leadership and IT skills. Travel is significant; on-site work at multiple sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited grounds maintenance qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Full, valid manual UK driving licence; significant travel across the region.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs (4/C or above) including English and Maths or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives, including temporary workers, with attendance, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
• Develop daily schedules to achieve regional maintenance plans.
• Perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments while maintaining safety standards.
• Maintain accurate work records using company IT systems.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety requirements and regulatory standards.
