Job summary

Nick Buick Associates is recruiting a Regional Finance Manager for a major UK housebuilder, based in Birmingham. You will partner with regional leadership to drive financial performance and provide commercial insight across the region.

You will oversee monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets, review development appraisals and investment proposals, and lead a regional finance team while maintaining robust financial controls and reporting.

Qualifications

• Commercially minded qualified accountant with strong business partnering skills.
• Experience in housebuilding, residential development, or construction/property environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work with senior operational stakeholders and translate financial information into clear commercial actions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior operational and commercial teams across the region.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets.
• Provide detailed analysis of regional and development performance.
• Challenge and support land, sales, build and commercial teams.
• Monitor site profitability, margins, cash flow and cost performance.
• Review development appraisals and investment proposals.
• Identify risks and opportunities and provide clear recommendations to senior management.
• Support the Regional Finance Director with strategic planning and decision-making.
• Maintain strong financial controls and reporting.
• Lead, develop and mentor members of the regional finance team.

Regional Finance Manager – Major Housebuilder

Birmingham / West Midlands

£70,000 – £80,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Finance Manager to join one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, supporting a significant and growing regional operation based in Birmingham.

Working closely with the Regional/Divisional Finance Director and senior operational leadership team, you will play a key role in driving financial performance across the region, providing high-quality commercial insight and ensuring robust financial control.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a broad range of financial and commercial activities, including:

• Partnering with senior operational and commercial teams across the region
• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets
• Providing detailed analysis of regional and development performance
• Challenging and supporting land, sales, build and commercial teams
• Monitoring site profitability, margins, cash flow and cost performance
• Reviewing development appraisals and investment proposals
• Identifying risks and opportunities and providing clear recommendations to senior management
• Supporting the Regional Finance Director with strategic planning and decision-making
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring accurate reporting
• Leading, developing and mentoring members of the regional finance team

The Candidate

We are looking for a commercially minded qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong business partnering skills.

Previous experience within housebuilding, residential development or a closely related construction/property environment would be highly advantageous.

You will need to be comfortable working with senior operational stakeholders, challenging performance where appropriate and translating financial information into clear commercial actions.
