Tailored Search Recruitment is seeking a Finance Manager in Birmingham to lead the day-to-day finance function and partner with the Finance Director. The role focuses on month-end, management accounting, and team development within a housebuilder environment.

You will oversee a transactional team, drive improvements, and support budgeting while shaping a pathway toward Financial Controller. On-site role with clear progression opportunities in a reputable construction sector business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or finalist in ACCA/ACA/CIMA.
• Experience in Finance Manager or similar role.
• Strong month-end and management accounting experience.
• Experience leading/mentoring finance team members.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive hands-on approach with process improvements.
• Experience in housebuilding/construction is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and deliver timely reporting.
• Oversee monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and key controls reviews.
• Monitor cashflow and assist forecasting.
• Manage and develop the transactional finance team.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve processes.
• Support Finance Director with ad hoc projects.
