Job summary

The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is the UK’s largest farming organisation. We are seeking a County Farming Adviser for Suffolk (East Region) who will provide strategic leadership to NFU Group Secretaries and represent farming interests with stakeholders across the county.

This home-based role requires extensive travel within the East Region and a proven track record in rural policy and member engagement. You’ll recruit, mentor and manage remote teams, drive policy work on commodity areas, and

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience of farming businesses.
• Experience in agricultural, supply chain or rural professional roles.
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate and develop a remote team.
• Persuasive communicator with experience lobbying and influencing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead NFU Group Secretaries and manage local NFU activities in the county.
• Develop plans to recruit/retain members and represent members’ voice.
• Lobby and campaign with stakeholders; promote NFU policy work.
• Build networks with local stakeholders, media and political contacts.
