National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is seeking a County Farming Adviser for Suffolk in the East Region. The role is home-based with travel across the county and up to the East Region.

It involves leading the county NFU team, recruiting and mentoring Group Secretaries, and representing NFU on policy and lobbying matters. You will build relationships with farmers and stakeholders, promote NFU policy work, and manage performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience of farming businesses.
• Experience in agricultural, supply chain or rural roles and/or wider supply chains.
• Proven experience in managing, recruiting, motivating and developing a remote team.
• Ability to work irregular hours and travel driving across the county and region.

Responsabilités

• Lead NFU activities in the county and oversee local structures.
• Recruit, manage and develop NFU Group Secretaries; advise on member engagement.
• Influence stakeholders, media and political contacts; liaise with HQ.
• Drive extensively across county and region to build networks.
