Job summary

Stagecoach Group Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead the East region, spanning 4 depots and a fleet of over 300 vehicles, including 30 EV buses. You will ensure safe, reliable operations, depot compliance, and developer talent while driving EV transition and maximizing existing investments.

Report to the Managing Director and assist on Licence management. You’ll lead a high-performing team, align with Stagecoach CVP, and travel across the region as needed, with

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in engineering.
• Experience leading engineering operations across multiple sites.
• Knowledge of health & safety, environmental and transport legislation.
• Willingness to travel across the region and relocate where required.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles.
• Oversee depot facilities, premises and engineering equipment across the region.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and training.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers and authorities.
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation within engineering.
• Manage performance to meet budgets, KPIs and service expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve customer satisfaction and CVP alignment.
