Job summary

Culina, the UK's leading independent supply chain partner, invites applications for a Regional Engineer within Integrated Packing Services. You will drive preventative and corrective maintenance across the Midlands region, ensuring high quality outputs, reducing downtime, and supporting day-to-day operations.

You will own projects, diagnose faults, conduct risk assessments, mentor new starters, and champion continuous improvement while working within health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food factory environment is advantageous.
• Completed apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Strong communication and motivational skills are essential.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements is essential.
• Flexible with overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Own specific jobs/projects through to completion.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes of production issues.
• Carry out planned maintenance as part of a preventive strategy.
• Complete risk assessments/method statements for equipment safety.
• Identify and report stock/spares issues.
• Liaise with production on outages to minimise downtime.
• Prioritise workload to safeguard output and quality.
• Propose improvements to increase line/machinery efficiency.
• Complete line checks and required documentation.
• Assist in training new starters and act as a role model.
• Monitor, control and minimise waste during operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Engage in PDP program and personal development.
• Be a specialist for machinery knowledge.
• Drive personal development through training and experience.
• Manage output of production and resolve issues promptly.

As part of our, Integrated Packing Servicesdivision, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Regional Engineer.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment. You’ll thrive on variety, take ownership of your work, and bring energy and ideas to the team.You will ensure the implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and improvements across the Midlands Region, and provide solutions to reduce costs and improve plant efficiencies.

Key responsibilities of a Regional Engineer:

• Ownership of specific jobs/projects through to successful completion
• Perform fault diagnosis leading to resolution of random failures on production machinery, identifying root cause in repair process
• Carrying out planned maintenance tasks as part of a preventative maintenance strategy
• Complete risk assessments/method statements to ensure safe running of all factory equipment and processes
• Identify and report all stock /spares issues
• Liaise with production on plant outages to ensure minimum downtime of production equipment
• Prioritise own work load with consideration to output, product quality and line efficiency
• Proactive approach to identify improvements to increase line and machinery efficiencies
• Complete all line checks and documentation as required
• To assist in the training and development of new starters
• To act as a role model for best practice
• Monitor, control and minimise waste
• Play an active part in continuous improvement
• To participate in the company’s PDP program
• To act as specialist for machinery knowledge
• Drive own personal development through training and work based experience
• Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.

Qualifications

What you’ll need...

• Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous
• Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience
• Basic computer literacy.
• Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role. Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters. An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential.
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines. Must be flexible in approach to work and undertake overtime during busy periods when required
• Management Ability -The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative. Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department. Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments.
