Job summary

Culina invites applications for a Regional Engineer within its Integrated Packing Services division. The role focuses on owning projects from concept to completion, diagnosing faults on production machinery, and implementing preventative maintenance to optimise line efficiency.

You will contribute to safety, training, and continuous improvement while working closely with production teams in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Experience in a food factory environment is advantageous.
Fully completed apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience.
Basic computer literacy is required and beneficial for daily tasks.
Able to communicate effectively and motivate others; health and safety awareness is essential.

Responsibilities

Own specific jobs/projects through to successful completion.
Perform fault diagnosis leading to resolution of machine issues and identify root causes.
Carry out planned maintenance as part of a preventative strategy.
Complete risk assessments/method statements to ensure safe running of equipment.
Identify and report stock/spares issues and liaise with production on outages.
Support in training new starters and contribute to continuous improvement.

Life in this role

As part of our, Integrated Packing Services division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Regional Engineer.

Key responsibilities of a Regional Engineer

Ownership of specific jobs/projects through to successful completion
Perform fault diagnosis leading to resolution of random failures on production machinery, identifying root cause in repair process
Carrying out planned maintenance tasks as part of a preventative maintenance strategy
Complete risk assessments/method statements to ensure safe running of all factory equipment and processes
Identify and report all stock /spares issues
Liaise with production on plant outages to ensure minimum downtime of production equipment
Prioritise own work load with consideration to output, product quality and line efficiency
Proactive approach to identify improvements to increase line and machinery efficiencies
Complete all line checks and documentation as required
To assist in the training and development of new starters
To act as a role model for best practice
Monitor, control and minimise waste
Play an active part in continuous improvement
To participate in the company’s PDP program
To act as specialist for machinery knowledgeDrive own personal development through training and work based experience
Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.

What You’ll Need

Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous
Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience
Basic computer literacy.
Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role. Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters. An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential.
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines. Must be flexible in approach to work and undertake overtime during busy periods when required
Management Ability - The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative. Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department. Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments.
