Biffa is seeking a Regional Driver Development Coach to support Haz & Liquid Waste Tanker operations. This hands-on, field-based role involves coaching drivers, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining compliance across regional teams.

You will run driver recruitment, induction, ongoing training, and performance reviews, helping drivers build knowledge and confidence to operate safely and efficiently on specialist assets. Experience with hazardous waste operations is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in HGV driving, driver training, driver assessment or transport operations.
• Strong understanding of road safety, driver compliance and vehicle operating standards.
• Ability to identify development needs and coach drivers to improve their performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with drivers and managers at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate training and competency records.
• A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and professional development.
• Experience with hazardous waste, liquid waste tankers or other specialist HGV operations would be an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Driver Recruitment & Induction: Support driver recruitment through practical assessments and competency checks; Deliver a comprehensive three-day driver induction; Help new drivers build knowledge and confidence.
• Driver Training & Development: Deliver ongoing driver training and refresher sessions; Coach drivers to improve skills and driving performance; Support safety culture across regional operations.
• Safety, Compliance & Performance: Maintain driver training and competency records using Express Class; Review driving performance data with managers; Provide reassessments and targeted retraining.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve training methods; Share best practices across the region; Keep knowledge up to date.
