Job summary

MEP Hire is seeking a Regional Driver to operate a 7.5T vehicle, delivering and collecting equipment across a wide region. You’ll travel between branches to provide cover during holidays, sickness, and peak periods, returning to base to support in-branch teams.

You must hold Class 1 business use on your personal insurance or be willing to obtain it, and you’ll demonstrate equipment while ensuring safety at all times. Competitive benefits on offer.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections as allocated by line/regional manager.
• Provide branch cover across the region to support holidays and peak periods.
• Demonstrate equipment and ensure sound presentation.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks (oil, water, lights, tyres).
• Identify new business opportunities and complete all documents.
• Maintain health and safety standards and a strong company track record.

Job description

Job Introduction

Working for us as our Regional Driver, you will be out and about much of the day delivering and collecting our equipment from customers in a 7.5T vehicle across a wide geographical area. As part of this service, you will be expected to demonstrate how to use the equipment where needed. This is a regional support role, meaning you will travel between branches within the region to provide cover during holidays, sickness, and extremely busy periods. Once you’re done out on the road, you may head back to base at one of our branches to support the team in‑branch.

You must hold, or be willing to obtain, Class 1 business use on your personal motor insurance policy, covering travel to multiple work locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries and collections as allocated to you by your line manager / regional manager
• Provide branch cover across the region to support holidays, sickness and peak trading periods
• Perform demonstrations and ensure sound presentation of all equipment
• Carry out vehicle checks every morning (oil and water levels, lights and tyres)
• Be aware and alert to any new business opportunity
• Ensure all customer and business documents are completed in full
• Be a champion of health and safety, maintaining MEP’s impeccable track record

• Flexible approach to working location – happy to support different branches as required
• With an interest in machinery, you will have basic knowledge of how equipment works or be keen to learn and widen your own expertise
• Hold Class 1 business use on your personal motor insurance policy
