Job summary

Leaders in Care is recruiting a Regional Director for Aberdeenshire to lead a portfolio of care homes with regular travel. You will support Home Managers, drive quality, safeguarding and regulatory compliance, and work with clinical and central teams to deliver sustainable improvements.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will manage occupancy, budgets and staffing costs, interpret operational and financial data, and build relationships with residents, families and commissioners.

Qualifications

• Senior operational leadership across multiple care services or multi-site setting.
• Strong safeguarding, quality governance and regulatory knowledge for Scottish care homes.
• Experience coaching Home Managers to improve service quality.
• Experience budgeting, staffing costs, occupancy metrics.
• Proven track record delivering service improvements and managing change.
• Effective leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent in health/social care.
• Willingness to travel regularly between services.

Salary: £79,000 per annum plus car allowance.

You will join a care organisation supported by long-term investment and a collaborative leadership team. This role combines operational leadership, quality improvement and commercial responsibility, with a focus on safe, person-centred care.

Essential skills and experience We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Senior operational leadership experience across multiple care services or a comparable regulated, multi-site environment.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding, quality governance and regulatory requirements relevant to Scottish care homes, including the Care Inspectorate framework.
• Experience supporting Home Managers or other senior operational leaders to improve service quality and performance.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing costs, occupancy or comparable commercial measures.
• Experience delivering service improvements, supporting inspections and managing change.
• Effective leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to interpret operational and financial information and turn it into practical action.
• A relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in health, social care or a comparable regulated sector.
• The ability to travel regularly between services and meet the role’s operational requirements, with reasonable adjustments considered where needed.

Desirable experience and qualifications The following would be helpful but are not essential:

• A nursing or relevant health and social care qualification.
• A postgraduate leadership, coaching or management qualification.
• Previous experience as a registered care service manager.
• Experience leading regional improvement programmes or large-scale operational change.
• Experience using quality dashboards, audit systems or electronic care planning platforms.
