Job summary

State Street, a leading financial services firm, seeks a Vice President of Cyber Security to embed with the Regional CISO, UK & Ireland. You will shape cyber priorities across business, technology, risk, and compliance, translating technical risk into clear executive decisions for regional leaders.

You will engage regional business and legal entity leaders, review complex issues, and drive practical security improvements that strengthen resilience in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Risk Management, or related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Typically 10–15 years of experience in cyber security, technology risk, security architecture, offensive security, cyber consulting, operational resilience, or related financial services role.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, GIAC GSSP, OSWE, SABSA, or vendor-specific certifications.
• Knowledge of tools or technologies includes practical coding, application security, and security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Act as the regional point of orchestration for cross-functional cyber activities with priorities understood and progressed to measurable outcomes.
• Provide senior cyber advisory and constructive challenge to business and technology teams to align security decisions with regional objectives.
• Lead or contribute to regulatory alignment activities including impact assessments, evidence reviews, and remediation tracking for the region.
• Prepare clear briefings, papers, risk narratives, and executive updates for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Support client and external engagement with credible cyber input and clear posture communication.
• Review complex cyber issues and assist design of solutions across vulnerability management, architecture, and secure processes.
• Translate security insights into pragmatic remediation plans reducing risk exposure across the organization.
• Drive governance improvements by identifying recurring weaknesses and simplifying cyber processes.
